Created April 26, 1994 by the City of Sunrise, FL (Ordinance 429), Sunrise Lakes Phase 4 Recreation District is a Recreation community with 2,535 apartments, and well over 5,000 residents located 15 miles West of Downtown Fort Lauderdale, in a convenient location close to Fort Lauderdale Airport, Port Everglades and major expressways. It serves to assure availability of recreational facilities and services to the thousands of existing and future residents of the Recreation District.

These recreation facilities consist of a 34,000 square foot main clubhouse, including a 1,000 seat auditorium, a 6,000 square foot multipurpose room with kitchen facilities, billiard room, card room, hobby room, craft room, exercise room, a 2,400 square foot heated pool, three tennis courts and five handball courts. The five satellite clubhouses are approximately 2,600 square feet each, and include a card room, meeting room, billiard room and kitchen facility, heated pool, and shuffleboard courts.
